When Gary Fisher first joined the business in 2003, he was appointed to the role of Service Centre Manager with a very clear brief.
He jokes:
"I was a Service Centre Manager with no operational Service Centre to manage, so I was tasked with setting one up at Worksop.
I successfully achieved this – developing our offer and growing the team - and the rest is history."

Gary is now our Service Manager for Specialist Products, which sees him looking after our extensive portfolio of bespoke specialist and recycling bodies, including glass, food waste and kerbside collection solutions.

“My role has evolved since my earlier days with the company, but I’ve still got 15 Field Service Engineers and three staff based at Worksop reporting directly to me as part of my responsibilities in relation to field service provision and aftersales support.

“A big part of what I do now also involves contract managing our work with the Nottinghamshire Consortium, overseeing all aspects of the procurement process and service provision for Terberg Matec UK and our partner Dennis Eagle. This has been a really successful contract for us, worth around £46-million, and we’re now in our third consecutive term of working with the 13 local authorities that make up the group.”

So, just what is it that Gary enjoys most about working with us? “The diversity of the role is great, so it’s impossible to get bored. Each day is different: one day I could be out on the road meeting customers, the next I could be in the office.

“The company is very supportive and accommodating to change, meaning there are always opportunities to develop. I also have a fantastic line manager in Will Marzano…but whatever you do, don’t tell him I said that!

“Like any job it can be demanding at times, but that’s the Terberg way – a great team of people always putting 100 per cent into what they do and going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the success of the business…and long may it continue.”
