Good customer service begins and ends with good communication, and there is absolutely no doubt that our Aldridge Service Centre Manager Jamie Skellam is an excellent communicator. A motivated and passionate leader, he truly cares about his customers, and has an excellent working relationship with them, as well as with his team at Aldridge.
Jamie has an impressive track record. He originally joined us as part of our apprenticeship programme. Fast forward 21 years and he now knows the business inside out, with previous roles including Workshop Engineer, Contract Engineer and Field Service Engineer.
“When I first joined Dennis Eagle, I really had no idea that I would eventually end up as Service Centre Manager,” says Jamie. “I was 16 years old, and all I wanted to do was be a mechanic. However, I soon realised the career progression opportunities that the company offered and, after my first year, I moved on to become an engineer.
“Dennis Eagle saw that I had management skills and potential, and in 2014 I was promoted to Depot Supervisor / Assistant Manager, before taking on the Service Centre Manager role last September.
“I am extremely passionate about the products we manufacture and, after many years spent fixing chassis, bodies and bin lifts for customers, I know everything there is to know about them. My engineering background means that when customers have an issue we can easily identify the problem and get the vehicle back on the road quickly and efficiently. Exceptional customer service comes as standard at Dennis Eagle, and if my customers are happy I know I’m doing my job properly.”
