K.R.Wisman & Zn. B.V. is a transport and groundworks company. It was set up as a contracting company, Gebr. Wisman, by two brothers, Klaas and Roelof Wisman. In 1971 the business was divided into two companies. Klaas continued the transport operations, which are now handled by his sons, Geert and Klaas. This company now provides transport, groundworks and contracting services. Its staff are highly professional and committed and always focus on doing the best possible job. One of the services is delivering sand and earth for private gardens.
This Volvo FMX 8x8 will mostly be used for earthmoving operations. The Volvo factory delivered this vehicle as a 6x6 and we made it to an FMX 8x8 C-Ride. Terberg Techniek IJsselstein fitted an 11.5 tonne SISU pusher axle to convert it to an 8x8 wide-spread. Both the newly fitted axle and the rear axle have electrohydraulic steering. The driven front axle has leaf springs while the three rear axles have hydraulic suspension and a levelling system. The vehicle is also fitted with a weighing system.
The GVW of this Volvo FMX 8x8 is 44.5 tonnes. It is powered by a 460 hp engine and it is fitted with a Volvo I-Shift gearbox optimised with special off-road software and extra low crawler gears. This improves its operation and safety because the truck can drive both forward and reverse at extremely low speed. The tipper body was fitted by Vossebelt.
