On the road to Liverpool
Peel Ports is a leading terminal operator in the UK and Ireland and has a history going back to 1715.
The company's latest venture, Liverpool2, is a deep-water container terminal - an investment amounting to GBP 300 million. It has doubled Liverpool's container capacity and made it one of the UK's best equipped and connected terminals. After a thorough assessment of the options, Peel Ports selected Terberg as the tractor and trailer partner for Liverpool2. This choice was based on the performance, reliability, fuel efficiency and low maintenance costs of Terberg tractors. Under the seven-year contract, Terberg will supply a fleet of YT222 tractors and Seacom 70-tonne container chassis via Briggs Equipment. This equipment will be used for transporting containers between the quay cranes and the storage yards. Peel Ports is also investing in a number of RoRo tractors to be deployed at its terminals in Liverpool and the nearby port of Heysham.
This contract builds on the 20-year relationship between Peel Ports and Terberg - both companies with a long history and a clear focus on the future.
